What Criminal Minds is about:

Criminal Minds is a crime series drama that follows the adventures of FBI agents from the Behavioural Analysis Unit at Quantico.

Criminal minds is unlike ANY OTHER crime show on tv. It is way better. It does have one thing in common with all the rest of crime shows though and that is the fact that you can start watching it from any episode in any season and still be able to follow it. Yea, there are things some things, like the back story of the characters or inside jokes between the characters that you may not get initially but as you spend more time watching you will be okay.

Why is Criminal Minds different?

That's easy. Its because of how they work. The way the team catches criminals is by studying the behaviour patterns and thoughts of the individual and the crime they are committing. The just don't work a crime scene and catch a person based on evidence. The FBI agents of the BAU put themselves in the shoes and minds of the criminals they hunt.

The Current Team:

Aaron Hotchner - Unit Chief

He is a former prosecutor who was originally assigned to the FBI Field Office in Seattle. He is one of the most experienced agents in the BAU.

David Rossi - Senior Supervisory Special Agent

He is a highly experienced profiler who once worked the BAU in its origins and a well known author of a book on criminal analysis.

Emily Prentiss - Supervisory Special Agent

She is the daughter of Ambassador Elizabeth Prentiss and fluent in 5 different languages. She also previously did undercover work for another agency before she joined the BAU.

Derek Morgan - Senior Supervisory Special Agent/Tactical Trainer

Before he joined the BAU he worked at the Chicago Police Department's bomb squad. He is the hot and hot-tempered agent of the team. Derek has a priceless relationship with technical analyst Garcia, and the two have a unique shorthand and banter.

Jennifer "Jay-Jay" Jareau - Supervisory Special Agent/ Former Media Director

She was the Media Liaison to local police agencies but after leaving to work at the pentagon and then returning to the BAU is now a full profiler.

Penelope Garcia - Technical Analyst/ Media Director

She joined the Bureau after bringing attention upon herself by illegally accessing some of their equipment; she was offered a job in lieu of a jail sentence.

Dr.Spencer Reid - Supervisory Special Agent

He is the youngest BAU member. He is a genius who graduated from a Las Vegas public high school at age 12. Reid has an IQ of 187, an eidetic memory and holds PhDs in Mathematics, Chemistry, and Engineering, as well as BAs in Psychology and Sociology; and is currently working on a BA in Philosophy.
