Season 5 Episode 1 -
Yes, Than Zero
The season opens with everyone’s summer. Serena is working in Los Angeles and Blair is busy with her fiancé Prince Louis who is a part of the royal family of Monaco. Blair and Louis are having problems because he refuses to stand up to his family on her behalf. Meanwhile, Dan’s secret novel is about to be published.

Season 5 Episode 2 -
Beauty and the Feast
Nate meets back up with Diana, an older woman who he met in episode 1 when he and Chuck stopped off to spend time with Serena in Los Angeles. Serena asks her cousin Charlie move back to the Upper East side with her. Dan’s secret novel is close to publication and he goes to Chuck for help and Louis and Blair go through more problems as his sister comes to visit but ulterior motives.

Season 5 Episode 3 -
The Jewel of Denial
Dan and Chuck bond over trying to stop the secret novel from being published and Dan tries to help Chuck get over his emotional block. Charlie and Serena finally get back to the Upper East side from California.

Season 5 Episode 4 –
Memoirs of an Invisible Dan
Dan gathers everyone together when his book is finally published so they can read it before it is released. Blair and Louis relationship suffers some more problems when he reads Dan’s novel.

Season 5 Episode 5 –
The Fasting and The Furious
Blair and Louis again have to battle his family over their life decisions. Dan has become alienated from everyone except Chuck since the release of his novel and now Serena’s boss is requiring she talk to him to get the movie rights for the book. The spectator’s launch is delayed and Diana expects Nate to fix it.

Season 5 Episode 6 –
I am number 9
Blair holds a competition between her minions for her bridesmaid spot. Nate is tired of keeping his relationship with Diana secret and wants to make her jealous with Charlie. Serena’s boss keeps pressuring her to get the movie rights for Dan’s novel.

Season 5 Episode 7 –
The Big Sleep No More
Chuck throws a masked benefit performance of the play “sleep no more”. Diana wants to destroy Gossip Girl and intends on using Serena to do it. And Dan is out somewhere being irrelevant on his book tour still isolated by his friends and family.

Season 5 Episode 8 –
All the Pretty Sources
The whole episode is spent with Serena planning Blair’s bridal shower. Chuck and Dan are the only two people not invited and therefore they spend the day together. Meanwhile Nate hacks gossip girls and finds a page with every post ever sent to her.

Season 5 Episode 9 –
Rhodes to Perdition
Charlie and Serena are excited for a party that is being thrown in their grandmother’s honour. Nate is now the new boss of the Spectator because Diana was fired in the episode before. Blair goes to Chuck to get his help with Louis.
