What Lying Game is about:
An identical twin; given up for adoption, find each other when one twin is on the hunt to find her birth mother. The are completely different and are from completely different backgrounds [one grew up rich while one grew up in foster homes]. Emma, the twin from the foster homes decides to run away and meets her sister, Sutan, who suggests that they should to switch places so she can continue the search of their mother. Sutan goes off and leaves Emma to talk over her life.
What you've missed in Season 1 -
Sutton and Emma switch places. Nobody knows Sutton has an identical twin so when they switch Emma has to use Sutton's laptop to figure out who and what everyone and thing are. At the same time they are both working together to figure out who their mother is and why she gave them up. Sutton is searching for information on their mother with Thayer, her bestfriend's brother and eventually Emma gets help from Ethan, Sutton's secret boyfriend as to how she could live as Sutton.
